Brighton and Hove Albion have extended the contract of Argentina international Mac Allister until 2027, keeping the player at the club for another four years.
The deal was announced on Tuesday, with Allister joining the Seagulls in January 2019 from River Plate. Since then, he has made over 150 appearances for the club, scoring 26 goals and providing 24 assists.
Allister is one of the most talented young players in South America, having won numerous awards during his time with River Plate. He has also been called up to the Argentina national team, making his debut in March 2018.
With the extension of his contract, Allister will be staying at Brighton for the foreseeable future, giving the club more time to develop him as a player. The club has already shown its commitment to developing young talent, with the likes of Adam Webster and Shane Duffy both progressing through the ranks into regular first-team players.
For Allister, the news is likely to be a relief after a difficult season last year, when he struggled with injuries. However, he should now be able to focus on improving his game and helping the Seagulls reach their full potential.
